I’ve been following Brandon’s work for years, and time and again he surprises me with his odd and lonely characters, his dark comedy, and the strangeness of his settings and situations. And yet his characters are treated without judgment. If there is anything that threads Brandon’s work together, it’s his honesty and unsentimental sincerity. We are lucky and honored to have him come and share his words. —Jason Christian, Co-Director of Delta Mouth 2018.
Brandon Hobson is the author of the novel, Where the Dead Sit Talking, as well as two previous novels, Deep Ellum and Desolation of Avenues Untold. He is the winner of a Pushcart Prize, and his fiction and nonfiction have appeared in such places as The Believer, The Paris Review Daily, Conjunctions, NOON, Post Road, Narrative Magazine, Puerto del Sol, and many other places. He holds a Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University and currently teaches at Northern Oklahoma College.
